All of the 90 two-level and bungalow attached homes here provide at least 1,300 square feet of above-grade living space plus a full basement.  There  are 76 two-storey homes and 14 "villa" bungalow homes, the latter all having a walk-out basement, as do eight of the two-storey homes.  The two-storey floor plans offer either three bedrooms or two bedrooms plus a den upstairs, a four-piece en-suite bathroom and a second full bath, plus a half bathroom on the living level and every basement roughed in for a further bathroom there.
 
Many of the basements at Royal Oak Estates have been fully finished, particularly in the villa homes and in the two-storey homes that also enjoy the walk-out basement level.  Interior finishings include open floor plans with nine-foot-high ceilings on the living level, most have maple cabinetry, and all have a deck at the back.  Every home's entry is spacious enough for some put-on-your shoes seating or even a home office.  Every two-storey home has an attached single-car garage and the villa homes each have a double garage, plus there's room for another vehicle or two on the driveway.  There are 14 stalls of on-site visitor parking.
 
All groups of townhouses at Royal Oak Estates have cedar-shake roofs, stucco siding with brick highlights, and peaked roofs with gables, all set in lots of lawn space and a bit of a green ribbon running through the centre of the development.
  
The development was started in 2003 by Today's Communities Incorporated, and built in 26 phases.  The private cul-de-sac Royal Manor is common property and the 26 bare-land condo lots in the development are subdivided into conventional condo plans each hosting up to four homes.  The Bylaws put the bare-land condo corporation in charge of the roadway and maintenance of all the lands and building exteriors.
