Its striking semi-circular balconies make the Liberte a landmark in Eau Claire, where it houses 141 suites, 189 titled indoor parking stalls plus visitor parking, assigned storage lockers, bike-locker rooms, and ground-floor amenities including a hot tub, gym, party room with kitchen, a garden ,and a tennis court. The tower is really two buildings; east and west, connected by a glass-walled elevator lobby where two fast lifts serve the 15 storeys plus two parking levels below grade, including indoor visitor parking. The owners' parking stalls are each titled property.
Built by Vancouver's Bosa Development Corporation in 1998/9 with concrete walls between suites and hallways (rare!), the Liberte's design is completely original, with nary a right angle to be found. If you're tired of "boxy" suites, this is one place where you'll find alternatives. One-bedroom suites have one rounded balcony, while two-bedroom suites have two of them; one off the living room and one off the den. Beyond that, eight upper-floor suites have larger roof-top balconies with terrific views. Suites are all roomy, ranging up to 1,328 square feet, with huge windows. Suites at Liberte's east and west ends are almost triangles; 'very cool.
The Condo Plan allocates unit factors in proportion to each suite's size, and all but five of the titled parking stalls are each given a single unit factor. Exterior windows and doors at Liberte are common property for repair and replacement. I have on file the original sales literature, floor plans and the Condo Plan.
