Five-Harvest Plaza

At the heart of Chinatown, this building houses some of the elderly folks we see there every day, which is part of the neighbouhood's charm. The name Five-Harvest Plaza refers to a perhaps mythological degree of agricultural bounty; a place where land yields five harvests in a single season. That bounty did not extend to the size of the 88 suites, however, as they start at 340 square-foot studios and most are in the 360 to 378 square-foot range, with just a couple larger than 700 square feet., and those accommodate two bedrooms!

The 11-storey tower was built in 1977 as a rental development and was converted to condominium homes, shops and 43 titled parking stalls in 1993. The 88 suites, three commercial spaces and the 43 titled parking stalls plus five basement storage areas were all sold independently, so most residents own or rent their tiny suites from the owners, but have no parking spot and likely don't care, as they have no vehicle. Some of the stalls will be held by the owners of the four large condominium commercial spaces on the main and second floors, and by people who work there. Others are owned by investors who rent them to suite owners or on the open market, which in downtown can command good money for a place to park a car!

All utilities are included in the condo contributions. Exterior window and doors are common property. I have the Condo Plan on file.
