Cliff Bungalow
Urban Street505 on 19th Avenue SW
Previously known as the Apartment Europe, this 66-suite and four-stores, seven-storey, concrete building was nicely renovated late in 2006. The building had become a tired rental since its construction in 1969, but with hardwood laid and granite installed these bright suites are today all cute urban homes.
There's a level of 40 in-ground titled-property parking stalls underneath and an at-grade level of 25 outdoor parking stalls, 12 of them tucked under the building, so total parking of 65. Some parking goes with the four commercial units, so there are a few suites that lack parking. Mind you, living here you can walk to just about everything, and the #3 bus stops virtually at the building's door, putting the Hudson Bay downtown about six minutes away....including red lights! Thought by some as being in Mission, this location is really in Cliff Bungalow, as it's west of 4th Street SW. Yet cross the street and there you are, with the Elbow River and pathways two blocks away.
Suites here are generally small, with only a few over 700 sq. ft. The smallest is 478, and most one-bedrooms are in the 500-600 square-foot range. One suite per floor on the north side, for a total of six suites, have no balcony. The condo conversion renovations include laminate hardwood living areas, entirely new kitchens and bathrooms and hookups for all-in-one clothes washer/dryer combos. There are two elevators and it looks like there's room in the parkade level for storage lockers.
The four storefront commercial spaces now house more upscale outlets than before conversion. Exterior windows and doors are common property for maintenance and replacement. I have the Condominum Plan on file.
