Well, here's the lap of luxury in a development restricted to those over the age of 18! These four condo apartment buildings are arrayed around the amenity building shown in my photo, which houses a full-sized indoor swimming pool, a gym and a social room. Built by a partnership of Apex Corporation and Ceco Developments, the first buildings were completed in 2000, and the last one in 2003. There are a total of 176 large two-bedroom or one-bedroom-plus-den homes in the four residential buildings, indoor assigned parking for everyone, plus indoor visitor parking and a car-wash bay. Two of the four residential buildings also each have a small office owned by the condo corporation. The south-east building has a lovely ribbon of park behind it, separating it from Somme Avenue.
All suite finishings were high end, and marketing was targeted to well-off empty nesters. A couple of the suites are owned by the condo corporation and operate as guest suites. Suites in all four buildings have in-floor heating, nine-foot ceilings, a gas fireplace, natural gas supply to the patio or balcony, open plans and in-suite plus out-of-suite storage. 'Last I heard pets were allowed, with approval, of course.
2200 Marda Link: The south-west three-storey L-shaped building houses 52 suites and a small common-property office. In 2007 two suites were legally merged into a single home of 1,916 sq. ft! Four suites are 720-square-foot lofts with their upper portion tucked under the roof, so they have vaulted ceilings reaching to 16.5 feet.
3000 Marda Link: The south-east three-storey building houses 49 suites and also has a small common-property office off the lobby. The largest suites are at the "elbow" of the building, where floor plans are larger than 1,600 sq. ft., and topping out at 1,840 sq. ft. There are also another four small loft suites on the top floor, looking north over the amenity building.
3650 Marda Link: The east-side building is laid out like a letter "c", houses 38 suites, eight of them being top-floor lofts facing either east or west, with those great soaring ceilings. As with all four buildings, the parkade beneath is common property, so both owners and visitors use assigned common-property stalls, with enough for everyone.
3651 Marda Link: The last-built residential building in this phased development is across Marda Link from its sisters and the amenity building. It is the same layout as #3650, but rotated 90 degrees, so its front door looks south to the amenity building. It also has eight loft suites and the same parking underneath.
